It is a priority to provide our pupils with a full Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) Programme. This is to ensure that pupils are ready and prepared for the future and have had experiences, opportunities and information to help them make choices for future study and work.

Employability is the ability to get work and progress in your future career. Learning about and developing employability skills is vital for young people. The CEIAG Programme helps our pupils understand employability and understand how important it is to have the right attitude and work ethic as they progress through education and training.

Pupils will have a variety of meaningful encounters with employers and external visitors during Years 9, 10 and 11, including a visit to a University and a visit to a careers fair.

During Year 10 all pupils will have the opportunity to complete a week of Work Experience. This taste of real work is always beneficial and pupils often return with new skills.

All pupils will have at least one careers interview with an independent advisor. This usually takes place in Year 11 in preparation for Post 16 study but can be earlier by request.
